On 24 february is Joomla 3.4 was released. Lots of changes were made, these are the most interesting:
Component weblinks
With Joomla versie 3.4 the component Weblinks is removed from the Joomla core, but it is still possible to install this extension. The reason for removal from the core is that the Joomla team wants to make the core lighter andnon-essential components are to be removed. If you upgrade from an earlier version you can manually remove the extension.
microdata implementation
Microdata was introduced in Joomla 3.2 and it uses simple attributes in HTML tags (often span or div) to assign brief and descriptive names to items and properties. With microdata you can give search engines better tools to understand the data on your website.
Frontend module editting
With the correct ACL you can edit modules on your Joomla website at the frontend. Earlier it was possible to edit modules but when you clicked the edit button you were moved towards the administrator area, from Joomla 3.4 you can edit the modules on the frontend.
No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA
CAPTCHA is the tool to fight spam on websites and has been available for a while now in Joomla, not being very user friendly. With Joomla 3.4 the latest version of CAPTCHA is available, you can see a example of this CAPTCHA below.
